Up until now, sound analysis in Quest3D™ was only possible via the Winamp™ channelset. The Winamp™ set which has been part of Quest3D™ since a few versions, although excellent, has unfortunately two major drawbacks.
But with the Spectrumyser™ this is now a thing of the past, the analysis is made directly from the input device of the host PC and not from preloaded audio files. Most importantly it relies entirely on its own integrated engine. These alone open many opportunities such as:
The Spectrumyser™ is made of two channels, SpectrumyserRange & SpectrumyserCommand. It is very simple to use, offers a set of well chosen options and is versatile and precise enough to be used in most contexts. The SpectrumyserRange (core channel) is of type Value which allows for maximum flexibility in controlling about anything in Quest3D™. The most important parameters (RangeFrom, RangeTo, RangeGain) are accessible via child links and via the property dialog while the properties (Spectrum, Peak, Delay, Oscilloscope etc...) are accessible only via the property dialog.
As already hinted above, the Spectrumyser™ relies on its own sound analysis engine and there is absolutely no need for external engines such as Winamp™ AVS to be installed anymore to make your Quest3D™ projects dance in rhythm with the outside world.
